Collaboration

Our Story

Our story began with our founder, Peter Guyer, a former Nestlé executive who spent years managing operations across Korea, Turkey, and Canada. Along the way, he built trusted relationships with international partners, all united by a mission to bring high quality products to new markets.

After returning to the U.S. in 2004, Peter noticed there had been many changes in the food and beverage market, especially with consumer demographics and eating preferences. Consumers were more health-conscious, tech-savvy, and open to experimenting with ethnic taste profiles. Innovative American brands were thriving, yet most hesitated to sell internationally, deterred by complex regulations and a lack of global sales expertise.

Peter launched Athena Marketing International (AMI) to offer his global expertise and relationship-driven approach to these ambitious American brands. Today, we’re proud to still work with the very first customer who partnered with us over 20 years ago—a testament to the long-term relationships we’re known for.

Since its launch, AMI has helped hundreds of food, beverage, nutrition, and consumer goods brands break into new markets worldwide. Backed by a network of more than 18,000 buyers in 130+ countries, Peter and his team connect North American manufacturers with the opportunities, relationships, and guidance they need to build strong, lasting global brands.
